Chinese National Sentenced for Running Trafficking Ring in Michigan Massage Parlors

A Chinese national was sentenced for her role in operating what Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel called one of the largest forced commercial sex rings ever dismantled in the state.

According to state prosecutors, Jin owned and operated two illicit massage parlors in metro Detroit—111 Healing Studio in St. Clair Shores and AM Healing Studio in Sterling Heights—where numerous Chinese and Korean women were identified as victims of the trafficking ring.

“This illicit operation was one of the largest forced commercial sex enterprises ever uncovered in our state, trapping numerous victims who were trafficked across an ocean directly into our communities,” Nessel said in a statement on Friday.

“This conviction makes clear that Michigan will be no harbor for the heinous trafficking trade, and my office remains committed to working with state, local, and federal law enforcement to dismantle these networks, protect survivors, and hold traffickers accountable.”

Jin was arrested in 2024 and was charged with multiple alleged offenses, including one count of conducting a criminal enterprise, one count of accepting earnings from prostitution, one count of money laundering, and one count of keeping a house of prostitution.

At the time of Jin’s arrest, four others were arrested—Piao Huazi, Jon Villasurda Sr., Oumar Lougue, and Li Ming.

Piao, a Chinese national, was sentenced to 40 months to 20 years in prison in October 2025, after pleading guilty to one count of conducting a criminal enterprise.

Villasurda Sr., a Michigan resident and American citizen, pleaded guilty to one count of transporting a person for prostitution in July. He is scheduled to be sentenced on Sept. 10.

The Epoch Times contacted Jin’s lawyer for comment but didn’t receive a response by publication time.

Piao admitted to delivering supplies to the spas and picking up ledgers, receipts, and cash proceeds from the spas. Choi admitted to recruiting women to work at the spas, arranging appointments, and advertising the spas’ services online.

Piao, Choi, and two other co-conspirators were arrested and charged in August 2024.

The four defendants, who lived in the Flushing neighborhood of Queens in New York City, were indicted on charges of conspiracy, human trafficking, immigration violations, and money laundering, according to federal prosecutors.
